YOUTH ACTIVITIES & NEWS

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all staying warm this winter. It is hard to believe that spring and horse shows are right around the corner. But they will be here soon!

I will be the NEPHC youth advisor for 2011. Zina Slade has done a terrific job in the past and she will still be available to assist us throughout the year.

As the new advisor, I would appreciate hearing all of your ideas and suggestions. With our area of New England being so large it is often difficult to get everyone together. However, with facebook and email, hopefully we can stay in touch and create some new ideas for the youths!

I am anxious to get more kids involved with the club and, hopefully, generate more youth members. The kids are the future of this club.

Please feel free to email or facebook me with any thoughts and ideas you may have for 2011. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon and having a great year.

Carrie Nickerson
Youth Advisor

What Is Good Sportsmanship?

Good sportsmanship is when teammates, opponents, and coaches treat each other with respect. We learn these basics as children from the adults in our lives. When we witness people behaving in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity — whether they win or not. Good Sportsmanship also involves devoting your time and support in activities around you.
